It was on the day before we left Edinburgh back to London – it was lovely that my boyfriend planned an afternoon tea session for us at The Balmoral!!
The classic architecture was standing out from the rest located at the Price’s Street; and I was absolutely stunned by the interior design of the Hotel and even at the Palm Court!
As soon as we were guided to our seats, the canvas paintings hanging on wall immediately drew my attention – everything was so simple yet elegant, and I absolutely love how the ceiling is half transparent so it feels more spacious.
Honestly it was my first time having traditional afternoon tea… where there are free flow of signature and infused teas alongside with three courses!
Afternoon tea (Christmas Special) £40 per head
Before we had our tea they served us with a complimentary pumpkin soup with crushed walnut! Sorry that no photos were documented since we were starving hehe.
First it was savouries and sandwiches
Sausage roll was our absolute favourite! Not too loaded yet it was freshly out from the oven
…Followed up with fresh scones, their clotted cream was like nothing else and I absolutely love it.
And lastly was their pastries, it includes raspberry puff, pistachio macaron, vanilla cream chestnut tart. It wouldn’t be Christmas if there’s no Christmas pudding in the menu, yum!
After the courses, we were each gifted with an exquisite souvenir of their signature tea infusion of ‘Royal Scottish Balmoral Blend’ – as much as I love their signature tea blend, I have decided to switch it to Earl Grey, which was really unique as it was scented with Lavender and Bergamot and it was lovely.
(ps. All tea infusions are from Brodies)
The overall dining experience was nothing like the previous afternoon teas I have had – it was observable that chefs and waiters have paid much attention on their hospitality towards each incoming guests, giving them a remarkable experience here at The Balmoral!
